We are proud members of:
Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization (MYRO), a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote physical fitness, teamwork and leadership skills through the game of rugby. MYRO is a part of USA Rugby and supports all levels of youth rugby from elementary school through high school ages.
USA Rugby is the national governing body for the sport of rugby in America and a full sport member of the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and World Rugby.

Our Values
Centrally located in Wrentham, MA
Our home pitch is conveniently located at the William A. Rice Recreation Complex. We have club members from Wrentham, Franklin, Mansfield, Walpole, Milford, Norfolk, Plainville, Medway, Bellingham and as far away as Providence.
Our History
We've been playing rugby in Wrentham since 2013. Our club has come a long way since then.
The KP Black Caps
Early 2013 and prior:
Our rugby program began with coach "Chip" Walker, a true advocate of our sport. Chip wanted to introduce the sport to his 10 year old son and began taking him to matches in Roxbury.
Eventually Chip brought the sport closer to home and started coaching an informal gathering of kids at the Cracker Barrel Fairgrounds in Wrentham. The King Philip Black Caps were born!
Chip was keen on teaching the laws of rugby to our young players, along with the core values of safety, fun, teamwork and respect.
The Acorns
2013 -2016
The informal gathering of previous years eventually grew and coach Chip decided we needed an official club. We became an official Wrentham Recreation Committee sport and registered with the Massachusetts Youth Rugby Organization as the Wrentham Acorns. Our boys and girls received their first official team jerseys, played in their first tournaments and we hosted our first ever Jamboree.
We eventually outgrew the fields at the Cracker Barrel Fairground and the Wrentham Recreation Committee provided space for us across the street at the William A. Rice Complex. The team now had it's own home fields. We also changed the color of our jerseys.
A time of change
2015 represented a year of change for our club as our founder, coach Chip left us for the warmer climes of Texas. We are forever grateful for everything he has done for us.
We also changed the color of our jerseys to a more eye-catching yellow. Over the course of 2015/16 the club's membership numbers took a major leap forward.
The Barbarians
The era of the Barbarian horde!
2017 was another monumental year for our club as we fielded our first high-school team! We also changed our name to The Barbarians, a team name that we felt was more fitting for the club that we had grown into and the club that we were poised to become. Our Barbarian horde, in their bright yellow jerseys hosted their largest ever Jamboree in Wrentham and stormed the Bay State games at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton.
Our Culture
We are an inclusive club - players, parents, family all participate and are all part of the Barbarian horde. We encourage members to grow at their own pace, striving for their best! Sportsmanship is of utmost importance. We place participant behavior ahead of winning at all levels.
Finally: we are passionate about rugby and we love to introduce the greatest team sport in the world to all those willing to try.
